Heart-Shaped Vegan Pizza That Actually Works

Heart-Shaped Vegan Pizza fresh from the oven

This Heart-Shaped Vegan Pizza is a fun, dairy-free recipe that keeps its shape while baking. I tested it several times in my own kitchen to get crisp edges, a soft center, and a clean heart outline that looks just as good as it tastes. Perfect for date nights, Valentine’s Day, or anytime you want something special without stress.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough

1 ball vegan pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 teaspoon olive oil (for brushing)

For the Toppings

½ cup thick marinara sauce

¾ cup shredded vegan cheese

¼ cup thinly sliced mushrooms

¼ cup sliced bell peppers

Fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a baking sheet or pizza stone inside to heat.

  • Place the pizza dough on parchment paper and gently stretch it into a round.

  • Shape the dough into a heart by pressing a small dip at the top and tapering the bottom into a point.

  • Chill the shaped dough in the fridge for 10 minutes to help it hold its shape.

  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce, leaving a wide border around the edges.

  • Sprinkle vegan cheese evenly, keeping it away from the edges.

  • Add mushrooms and bell peppers in a light, even layer.

  • Transfer the pizza (with parchment) onto the hot baking surface.

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

  • Remove from the oven, rest for 2 minutes, then garnish with fresh basil and slice.

Notes

Light toppings help keep the heart shape intact.

Chilling the dough before baking makes a big difference.

Use thick sauce to prevent spreading during baking.
